Euronews: Azerbaijan’s Savalan valley emerges as global wine destination

The Savalan Valley in Azerbaijan is gaining international recognition for its award-winning wines thanks to its unique terroir and mineral-rich soils.

The region is rapidly emerging as a hub for wine tourism, attracting visitors eager to explore its vineyards and winemaking heritage, Euronews writes. 

The Savalan project, which seeks to blend the ancient winemaking traditions of the Caucasus with modern technology, has brought global attention to the valley.

“We want Savalan to evolve from a national brand into a global one,” says Jahangir Shafizada, director of one of the region’s most renowned wineries, emphasizing a vision that balances innovation with heritage.

With its combination of historic viticulture and contemporary techniques, the Savalan Valley is positioning itself as a new destination for wine enthusiasts worldwide.
