Explosion heard at ammunition depot near Kyiv

An ammunition depot in the town of Vyshneve, near Ukraine's capital Kyiv, has reportedly been struck, prompting local authorities to order the evacuation of residents.

The strike was first announced by former Ukrainian lawmaker Ihor Mosiychuk, who said on his Telegram channel that the facility stored a range of munitions, Caliber.Az reports.

“A missile has struck an ammunition depot! Amongst other munitions, there were cluster munitions and depleted uranium rounds,” Mosiychuk wrote.

Authorities have ordered residents to evacuate the area following the incident.
