Explosions in Crimea: Ukrainian forces drones strike oil depot PHOTO
On the night of November 5 to 6, a fire broke out at an oil depot in occupied Simferopol, Crimea, reportedly at the “Krymneftesbyt” facility near the village of Bitumne.
The blaze began around 2:30 a.m., RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Telegram channel Krymski Veter.
“The fire started around 2:30. Our subscribers from the Simferopol district reported seeing it. Drones had flown over the area shortly beforehand,” the Krymsky Veter (Crimean Wind) Telegram channel reported.
Subscribers of the channel suggest that the burning facility is the Krymneftesbyt oil depot.
The same Telegram channel earlier reported explosions that “could be heard even on the southern coast of Crimea.” “Something is burning in Hvardiiske and near the Simferopol power station,” the post added shortly after 2 a.m.
Reports also mentioned four strikes in Hvardiiske, followed by rising plumes of smoke.
On October 29, explosions and fires were reported across several parts of occupied Crimea, with at least one oil depot and, reportedly, a military facility hit.
Earlier, on October 17, another oil depot in Hvardiiske caught fire early in the morning. Satellite images later showed two distinct centres of fire at the site.
