First footage shows Ukraine downing Russian drones with laser-guided rockets PHOTO / VIDEO

The first footage has emerged of Ukrainian Air Force F-16 AM fighter jets employing APKWS II laser-guided rockets to intercept Russian drones, according to the Russian Telegram channel.  

Previously, only photos existed showing Ukrainian F-16AMs in anti-drone configuration with two LAU‑131/A pods loaded with APKWS II rockets.  

The US Air Force first used similar configurations in the Middle East to counter Iranian strike drones, aiming for a cost-effective method to neutralise relatively inexpensive kamikaze UAVs.
