Five dead after explosion near military site in Syria's Homs VIDEO

Five people were killed after a munition detonated near a military installation in Syria’s central Homs province, local authorities said.

The incident occurred near the T-4 airbase along the Homs–Palmyra highway, according to a statement from the provincial press service cited by Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

Officials said the detonation of an explosive device in the vicinity of the military facility caused the explosion.

The five victims had reportedly entered the restricted area surrounding the site several days earlier without authorisation. Their identities have not been disclosed.
