FM: Hungary to block Ukraine’s EU entry if Orbán remains in power
Hungary will not allow Ukraine to join the European Union and will not finance what it called a “Ukrainian military mafia” if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán remains in power, according to remarks by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó at an election rally in Budapest.
Szijjártó stated that as long as a sovereign national government remains in power in Hungary, the country will not enter a war, Hungarian funds will stay within Hungary, and Ukrainians will never, in their lifetime, become members of the EU, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Szijjártó also claimed that shortly after parliamentary elections, Brussels aims to “permanently deprive” Hungary of Russian oil supplies, adding that Orbán’s government will continue to “fight” for Russian energy sources.
