Former Kazakh president's brother Bolat Nazarbayev dies

The brother of the former president of Kazakhstan, Bolat Nazarbayev, has died, said press secretary of the first president Aidos Ukibay.

"Bolat Nazarbayev, the younger brother of first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, died at 70 after a long illness," the press secretary said, according to AKI Press.

According to preliminary information, Bolat Nazarbayev was admitted to the intensive care unit with cardiac arrest. The medical assistance did not help.

According to the hospital, Bolat Nazarbayev died at 9:51 am on November 13.

The younger brother of the former president was hospitalized at the Central Clinical Hospital of Almaty with a second heart attack on November 4. The media reported that his condition is unstable since the heart attack is associated with several other illnesses that he has been suffering from in recent years.

Bolat Nazarbayev was involved in business in the 1990s. He is the founder of the public charitable foundation "Salikaly Urpak". Other entrepreneurs have repeatedly accused him of raiding, but no formal charges have been brought against him. However, the younger brother of the former president lost several of his assets, including lands in different regions and markets.
