Four injured as Russian drones strike Ukraine's Cherkasy region UPDATED

Russian drones of the “Geran” type reportedly targeted an energy facility in Cherkasy, according to the Russian Telegram channel Voyenniy Osvedomitel.

Details on the extent of the damage and potential consequences of the strike are still emerging. Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued an official comment.

Russia has carried out a massive aerial attack on Ukraine’s Cherkasy region, Ihor Taburets, head of the regional state administration, said on Telegram.

He noted that the downing of Russian drones has been recorded at several locations, including in the regional centre, triggering fires, Caliber.Az reports.

According to preliminary information, four people were injured.

Emergency services are working at the scene. Further details are not yet available.
