Logistics company Nova Post said its sorting terminal in the city of Sumy was hit by two drones following overnight Russian drone attacks on Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region.
The company said the strikes damaged the facility's roof and some equipment, while mesh containers holding parcels were also affected. A fire triggered by the attack was extinguished by emergency responders, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Nova Post, more than 13,000 shipments with a total declared value exceeding 42 million hryvnias ($1 million) were on the terminal premises at the time of the strike. The company said an assessment of the damage and the condition of the cargo is ongoing.
No employees were injured in the attack, the company added.
Nova Post also pledged to compensate customers for the declared value of any shipments that were damaged or destroyed as a result of the strike.

“On the night of June 16–17, Russian UAVs struck civilian infrastructure facilities in the Shostka and Trostyanets communities. The shock wave damaged private homes. In addition, a civilian infrastructure facility in the city of Sumy was targeted by the Russians,” the statement said, Caliber.Az reports.
Emergency services temporarily halted rescue operations due to the risk of follow-up strikes, the service added.
