France summons Iranian envoy over ballistic missile transfers to Russia
France has summoned Iran's chargé d'affaires in Paris to discuss Tehran’s reported transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.
This diplomatic move comes in light of Tehran’s alleged decision to provide additional missiles to Moscow, which could potentially be used in Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The United States recently imposed new sanctions on Iran in response to these claims, accusing Tehran of escalating its military support for Russia. Iran, however, denies supplying any missiles to Moscow.
Reports of Iranian missile transfers surfaced in September when Western media claimed that Tehran had sent a batch of ballistic missiles to Russia.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed the allegations of weapons transfers as "ugly propaganda" designed to divert attention from Western arms supplies to Israel. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani addressed the issue on September 10, following threats of further sanctions from Western countries.
Kanaani wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that the reports were an attempt to "conceal the large illegal arms support of the U.S. and some Western countries for the genocide in Gaza."
