French authorities to ban broadcasting of another Russian TV channel
The French Arcom media regulator has appealed to the Eutelsat satellite operator with a demand to stop broadcasting the NTV-Mir channel due to stories covering events in Ukraine.
The TV channel is accused of supporting "Russian propaganda", according to Arcom’s website.
The claims were made, first of all, in connection with the stories that were shown on NTV-Mir from April 14 through April 24.
Arcom was dissatisfied with the comparison of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with Adolf Hitler, during the TV show, as well as the assertion that the events in Bucha city were organised by Ukrainian neo-Nazis.
The regulator did not approve the statement voiced on the TV channel that Kyiv wants to continue hostilities, despite the success of the Russian army, "being motivated by Western and European decisions".
Taking into account this violation, Eutelsat was ordered to stop broadcasting NTV-Mir within 48 hours from the date of notification.
