French, Iranian presidents talk security, diplomacy in phone call
French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, according to IRNA.
“Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Emmanuel Macron, President of France, discussed regional developments and the dangerous consequences of the ongoing military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran during a phone call,” the statement said.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran remains firmly committed to defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty. He also called on the international community to condemn the actions of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic and hold them accountable.
During the conversation, Macron stated that Paris condemns the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran and expressed readiness to take any steps necessary to restore diplomatic efforts.
