French party leader urges country's withdrawal from WHO, labelling it "useless structure"
France should leave the World Health Organization (WHO) like the US to avoid overpaying.
On his X page, Florian Philippot, leader of France's Patriots party, urged Paris to follow Washington's move to quit the global healthcare giant, according to Caliber.Az.
“What should we do? Pay twice as much to make up for the American share? No!” the politician stated.

"The WHO has defrauded us! Obviously, we too need to get out of the WHO, a costly, useless structure corrupted by Big Pharma and its allies!" he stressed.
On January 20, President Donald Trump signed an executive order initiating the United States' withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO). This decision cites the WHO's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, its failure to adopt necessary reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from political influences as primary reasons for the withdrawal.
The withdrawal process is set to take effect within 12 months, during which the US will cease all financial contributions to the WHO, which currently accounts for approximately 18% of the organization's funding.
