Germany pledges more pressure on Russia after deadly Kyiv strike
Germany’s Foreign Ministry has criticised what it described as a “retaliatory strike” by Russian forces on Ukraine and pledged to intensify pressure on Moscow.
The statement was published on the ministry’s official website.
Berlin once again accused Russia of being unwilling to engage in negotiations and said that, “together with its partners,” it would “further increase pressure on Russia.”
The ministry also said Germany would continue its support for Ukraine, adding that the issue would be one of the key topics at the NATO summit scheduled to take place in Ankara next week.
The remarks follow a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv overnight on Thursday, July 2, involving ballistic missiles and drones. At least 18 people were killed and another 85 injured, according to preliminary reports.
