Heavy rains leave at least five people dead in Chad VIDEO

Heavy rains in eastern Chad left at least five people dead, flooded a large part of Adré in Ouaddaï Province and caused significant material damage.

The full extent of the disaster has yet to be assessed, while search and rescue operations are underway, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Officials said the floods also caused extensive property damage, with water inundating shops and businesses and destroying merchandise.

They cautioned that the toll could rise as assessments continue and more information comes in about the full extent of the damage.
