Hezbollah chief sets terms for ending Lebanon conflict
The leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, has set out three key conditions for ending the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.
These conditions were previously agreed upon during a ceasefire reached in November 2024, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Hezbollah is demanding a complete cessation of hostilities and what it described as Israeli aggression, the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, as well as the release of prisoners and the return of displaced persons.
Qassem stressed that the movement would continue its resistance if Israel maintains its attacks and presence in the country.
“The resistance has secretly and methodically rebuilt itself, and when the opportunity arises, we will capture enemy soldiers,” Qassem said.
The Hezbollah leader also noted that a ceasefire agreement had been reached in November 2024, but claimed that it has not been upheld by the Israeli side for the past 15 months.
According to him, full implementation of that agreement is key to ending the conflict.
