23 May 2026 17:06
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central Madrid on May 23 to call for the resignation of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
According to a TASS correspondent at the scene, the march began at around 10:30 a.m. local time, with many participants carrying Spanish flags and chanting slogans demanding Sánchez step down.
The protest received support from opposition political groups, including the conservative People’s Party and the far-right Vox party.
The demonstration was organised by the Spanish Civil Society (SCE) movement, which said it opposes the direction in which the current government is leading the country.
No immediate reports of clashes or arrests were reported during the rally.
