Hungary remains only EU country maintaining good ties with superpowers
Hungary remains the only EU country maintaining good relations with the world’s four largest powers — Russia, the United States, China, and Türkiye.
Hungarian Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó made the remarks at the Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, per a local outlet, Magyar Nemzet.
“In the current turbulent period, as the global order is being shaped, our strategy is to ensure that the four global centres of power are interested in Hungary’s successes or, at least, not in its failures… At present, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is the only European leader who simultaneously maintains good relations with the leaders of the U.S., Russia, China, and Turkey,” he said.
Szijjártó noted that the EU, by contrast, has chosen a path of isolation from the world powers, while Hungary has become an important hub for meetings between Eastern and Western companies.
He added that the past four years have been the most successful in the country’s history in terms of investment.
