Hungary’s PM-elect defers talks on Oschadbank funds until taking office

Hungary’s prime minister-elect, Péter Magyar, has stated that he is ready to discuss the issue of the confiscation of funds belonging to Ukraine’s state-owned Oschadbank only after officially taking office.

Magyar noted that negotiations with the Ukrainian side would only be possible after he is sworn in as prime minister, Hungarian media reports.

Commenting on the issue, he also said there is still a great deal of uncertainty and contradictory information surrounding it.

“We do not know what actually happened; we have also seen propaganda news,” he added.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he intended to discuss issues related to confiscated Ukrainian assets with Magyar.
