IDF destroys Syrian naval vessels, missile stockpiles in major military operation VIDEO

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have announced a significant operation targeting strategic weapons stockpiles across Syria, successfully preventing them from falling into the hands of terrorist groups.

The strikes, which occurred within the last 48 hours, involved extensive air and naval operations, neutralizing a broad array of military assets.

Late December 9 evening, Israeli Navy missile ships launched simultaneous strikes on two key Syrian naval facilities at Al-Bayda and Latakia ports. These operations destroyed 15 Syrian naval vessels stationed at the sites.

Among the destroyed assets were dozens of sea-to-sea missiles with ranges of 80 to 190 kilometres, each equipped with high-explosive payloads that posed a serious threat to civilian and military maritime traffic in the region.

Over Syrian airspace, IDF manned aircraft conducted hundreds of hours of flight time, supported by fighter jets, in executing over 350 aerial strikes. The extensive campaign targeted anti-aircraft batteries, Syrian Air Force airfields, and multiple weapons production facilities located in key cities including Damascus, Homs, Tartus, Latakia, and Palmyra.

The IDF confirmed the destruction of a wide range of strategic weaponry, including Scud and cruise missiles, surface-to-sea, surface-to-air, and surface-to-surface missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Additional neutralized assets included fighter jets, attack helicopters, radar systems, tanks, and military hangars.

The IDF’s Northern Command Fire Control Centre coordinated airstrikes on 130 targets in Syria, further intensifying the offensive. These strikes focused on weapons depots, military installations, launchers, and artillery positions.

This comprehensive operation underscores the IDF’s efforts to mitigate threats to regional security while significantly degrading Syria’s military capabilities.
