IDF destroys Gaza tunnels, strikes Lebanon, detains 60 in West Bank
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said its troops continued operations on multiple fronts over the past week, reporting the destruction of more than one kilometre of underground tunnels in the Gaza Strip, four airstrikes in southern Lebanon, and the arrest of over 60 suspected militants in the West Bank.
According to the military, forces operating under the Northern Command dismantled an underground tunnel in the village of Majdal Zoun as part of operations in the security zone, Caliber.Az reports.
The IDF also said the Israeli Air Force carried out four precision strikes against individuals it identified as posing an immediate threat following what it described as Hezbollah ceasefire violations, and targeted three Hezbollah command centres.
In the Southern Command, the military said troops demolished underground tunnels with a combined length exceeding one kilometre while continuing efforts to locate and destroy additional tunnel networks, particularly around Khan Younis.
The IDF added that about 20 militants were killed, including individuals it accused of rebuilding Hamas' military infrastructure and taking part in the October 7 attack on Israel.
The military also reported that more than 60 suspects were detained during dozens of operations across the West Bank. Those arrested, it said, included individuals suspected of planning attacks, Hamas members, a person accused of stone-throwing, and suspects allegedly involved in weapons possession and trafficking.
The IDF made it clear that troops seized around 162,000 Israeli shekels ($47,900) in funds allegedly linked to militant activity, along with five drones, materials used to manufacture explosive devices, ammunition, incitement materials, and a cache of weapons, including pistols and M16 rifles.
The military added that its forces continue to conduct operations aimed at preventing smuggling and reinforcing security along Israel's eastern and western borders.
