IDF strikes Hezbollah military and missile facilities in northern Lebanon
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have conducted a series of strikes targeting Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and northern regions, the army announced on its official Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out based on intelligence information and involved precision strikes on several terrorist sites belonging to the Hezbollah organisation.
“Recently, guided by intelligence data, the Israel Defence Forces struck several terrorist targets belonging to Hezbollah in the Bekaa region of Lebanon. Among the targets was a complex used by Hezbollah to train terrorists,” the statement said.
The IDF explained that the targeted military compound was used by Hezbollah to train and prepare its members for planning and executing attacks against the Israel Defence Forces and the State of Israel. Training at the site reportedly included live-fire exercises and additional instruction on the use of various types of weaponry.
In addition to the training complex, the IDF said its forces struck Hezbollah’s military infrastructure at a facility involved in the production of precision-guided missiles in the Bekaa Valley. Strikes were also carried out against terrorist infrastructure at a military site in the Sharbine area in northern Lebanon.
The Israeli military emphasised that Hezbollah’s storage of weapons, establishment of terrorist infrastructure, and organisation of military exercises directed against Israel constitute a flagrant violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon. Such actions, it said, represent a direct threat to the security of the Jewish state.
“The IDF will continue operations to eliminate any threat posed to Israel,” the statement concluded.
