India appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

India has appointed Sridharan Madhusudhanan a new ambassador of this country to Azerbaijan.

Madhusudhanan is also in the position of Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), according Interfax-Azerbaijan reports quoting the Indian Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said that the new ambassador is expected to take over the office soon.

His predecessor was Bawitlung Vanlalvawna from February 28, 2019, to July 5, 2022. Since the end of his tenure, the Indian ambassadorial post in Baku remained vacant for the past six months.
