India's exports to CIS countries surpass $1 billion

20 July 2026 14:35

India's exports to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries rose 7.7% to $1.1 billion during the first two months of the 2026–27 financial year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has stated.

It said the strongest export growth was recorded in shipments to ASEAN countries and Africa, which increased by 66.9% to $10.5 billion and 51.1% to $9.6 billion, respectively, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

India's total exports of goods and services climbed 14.6% year-on-year to $162.6 billion in April and May.

According to the ministry, more than half of India's exports now go to Asian and African markets as part of the country's trade diversification strategy.

The United States, Canada and Mexico remained India's largest export destinations, with shipments to the region rising 2.6% to $19.3 billion, while exports to Europe increased 4% to $17 billion.
