Indonesian island Bali turns haven for Russian criminals

The Indonesian island of Bali has become a haven for criminals from multiple countries, including Russia, according to the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office.

An agency representative said Bali now acts as a refuge for fugitives involved in drug offenses and other serious crimes, including Russian nationals, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The office emphasised its determination to prevent the resort island from turning into a ‘safe haven’ for those evading criminal accountability, stressing that Indonesia must not allow them to arrive and hide unnoticed and unchallenged.
