Indonesian Red Cross dispatches emergency medical aid to Iran
The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is sending emergency humanitarian medical assistance to Iran amid an ongoing conflict in the Middle East that is placing significant pressure on the country’s healthcare system.
The shipment includes medicines, personal protective equipment, trauma treatment kits, and basic surgical instruments. The package is valued at around 2 billion Indonesian rupiah (approximately $112,000), Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The organisation said procurement has already been completed, and the delivery is scheduled for next week to the Taftan area on the Pakistan–Iran border.
PMI Secretary-General A.M. Fachir, citing Iran’s Health Ministry, said that at least 50 hospitals and hundreds of medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed as a result of strikes and explosions.
