International community must raise its voice against aggressive separatism Statement by Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker

Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Speaker Sahiba Gafarova referred to the steps taken by Armenia towards the aggravation of the situation in the region during her speech at the general discussions of the G77+China summit in the Republic of Cuba.

"The international community must raise its voice against aggressive separatism and strongly condemn such illegal activities. Separatism cannot be tolerated in the modern world, which strives for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development," she said, according to APA.

Noting that today Azerbaijan initiates the process of normalisation and signing a peace agreement with Armenia on the basis of norms and principles of international law, the Speaker of Milli Majlis underlined that it is the only way to achieve long-term peace and stability in the region.

The Speaker stressed that counter to Azerbaijan's sincere approach to the processes, Armenia violates the previously reached agreements, supports separatism in the territories of Azerbaijan, and continues military-political provocations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.
