Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov began an official visit to Kuwait, with scheduled meetings on April 30 with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya and other high-level bilateral talks to strengthen relations between the two countries.
As part of the visit, the third session of the Joint Commission on Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Kuwait will be held, with Bayramov presiding over the session, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Earlier, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said that Bayramov is set to visit Kuwait on April 29-30 to participate in a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission.
Rafiyev emphasised the importance of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral relations.
He also noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had extended an invitation to Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to visit Azerbaijan. “We hope that His Highness will visit Azerbaijan this year,” Rafiyev added.
The last session of the Azerbaijan-Kuwait intergovernmental commission took place in Baku on February 14, 2013.
