Iran’s defence chief: No tolerance for violations of Armenia-Iran border

Tehran will not allow any encroachments on the border between Armenia and Iran, Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh stated during a meeting with his Armenian counterpart in Yerevan.

Nasirzade made the remarks during his official visit to Armenia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

According to the Iranian minister, maintaining territorial integrity and the stability of borders in the region remains one of the core principles of Iran’s policy.

“The shared border between Iran and Armenia is a historical route of connection between the two peoples, and Tehran will not permit any encroachment on this border,” Nasirzadeh said.
