Iran unveils monument depicting Ali Khamenei's raised fist in Tehran
A monument depicting the raised fist of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been installed in Tehran's Enghelab Square, with banners featuring the same symbol also displayed across the Iranian capital.
Among them are posters bearing portraits of Khamenei and other Iranian military and political figures killed in US and Israeli attacks, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Iranian flags are being distributed to people gathered in public squares, while large crowds have been seen on the city's streets.
Ali Khamenei, who led Iran for 36 years, was killed on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran, sparking a regional conflict.
Funeral ceremonies are scheduled to begin in Tehran on July 4 and conclude with his burial in his hometown of Mashhad on July 9.
Iranian officials expect millions of people to attend the six-day mourning period, making it one of the most closely watched international events.
