Iran vows no leniency for suspected spies
Iran’s judiciary head, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, has called for expedited and strict handling of cases involving those accused of cooperating with adversaries amid US and Israeli attacks, according to SNN.
This comes after Iranian police chief Reza Radan reported that at least 500 people have been detained since February 28 on suspicion of collaborating with enemy forces.
“Given the state of war, it is necessary to accelerate the review and decisions on cases of individuals accused of threatening the security of the people; however, speeding up the process does not mean abandoning accuracy and justice.
In executing final sentences against those who, in conditions of war and unrest, committed crimes and had ties to hostile aggressors, there must also be no delay or leniency,” the judiciary head said.
