Iraq bans airstrike media coverage to protect critical sites

Iraq’s Ministry of Interior has prohibited the publication of photos and videos from airstrike sites, urging media outlets and the public not to share sensitive material amid rising regional tensions.

The ministry stated that “the dissemination of such videos could reveal information about critical facilities and be exploited by hostile actors,” and called on citizens to avoid the designated areas.

Officials also urged the media to provide accurate reporting without disclosing the locations or details of ongoing operations.

The ministry warned that legal action will be taken against violators through the Cybercrime Department in cooperation with judicial authorities.
