Iraqi Kurdistan, Syrian leaders talk over steps to stabilise region
The President of Nechirvan Barzani of Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa have discussed efforts to stabilise the region and halt ongoing attacks, according to an official statement.
In a telephone call, the two leaders stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts aimed at ending what they described as a broader regional conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, Caliber.Az reports.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency said the conversation focused on recent developments and highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and stability in Iraq, including in Iraqi Kurdistan.
President al-Sharaa also condemned attacks on the region, the statement added.
Discussions also covered the situation of Kurdish and other communities in Syria, bilateral relations between Iraq and Syria, and a range of other issues of mutual concern.
