Israel, Lebanon delegations to hold new round of talks in Washington
07 May 2026 20:16
Representatives of Israel and Lebanon are expected to meet in Washington on May 14–15, the US State Department has confirmed.
The previous meetings in Washington were at the ambassador level, Caliber.Az reports, citing The Times of Israel.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump was reportedly seeking to arrange a meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
A source said efforts are underway to organise the meeting, with a tentative date of May 11 proposed for talks in Washington.
However, Aoun made it clear that such high-level engagement wouldn’t be appropriate before the sides reach a security agreement and before Israel halts its strikes in Lebanon.
