Israel neutralises commander of Hezbollah's missile forces
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon targeted and killed Hezbollah's commander of the Nasser missile and rocket forces.
The operation in the Jwaya region also resulted in the elimination of the commander of the Nasser drone unit, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The IDF stated that Faour was responsible for several attacks on the Golan Heights, including a July strike on Majdal Shams that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers.
While Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah have regularly exchanged fire since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the situation along the Lebanon-Israel border has recently greatly escalated.
On September 23, the IDF launched a "preemptive offensive operation" in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah's military infrastructure.
This operation followed a barrage of over 100 rockets fired from Lebanon into northern Israel.
The IDF has also been actively conducting precision strikes against Hezbollah's military facilities and infrastructure, as well as targeting key leaders of the group in recent months.
