Israel prepares to examine remains found in Gaza
Israeli authorities are preparing to receive for examination human remains recently discovered in the Gaza Strip.
Officials from the Prime Minister’s Office said the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) plans to transport the samples to Israel, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
The forthcoming analysis will determine whether the remains belong to one of the two hostages still believed to be in Gaza.
Israel is currently awaiting the return of two hostages: Ran Gvili, a Yamam special forces sergeant who was involved in repelling an attack in Alumim, and Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national abducted from Be’eri.
The ceasefire in Gaza is largely holding, as Israeli forces positioned inside the territory have withdrawn to the so-called “yellow line”.
Since the truce began, humanitarian aid deliveries have increased: around 16,600 aid trucks have entered Gaza, bringing food, fuel, shelter materials, and medical supplies.
However, the humanitarian situation remains critical, with many civilians reported to be without sufficient shelter or basic services, while widespread damage across Gaza — from homes to hospitals — continues to hamper recovery and reconstruction efforts.
