Israel says forces kill militants, destroy Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon PHOTO / VIDEO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said its Division 36 continues to dismantle militant infrastructure and locate weapons in southern Lebanon, as operations involving the 7th Brigade and Golani Brigade enter their third week in the area.
According to a statement from the military spokesperson, dozens of militants were killed over the past 24 hours after being identified setting up ambush positions in southern Lebanon.

One armed militant carrying an RPG launcher was detected preparing to fire at Israeli forces and was killed before he could carry out the attack.
The IDF also said its troops detained a militant affiliated with Hezbollah who was reportedly observing Israeli forces. The detainee has been transferred for further interrogation.
In parallel, forces destroyed storage facilities containing significant stockpiles of weapons, command posts, underground tunnels and a launcher that had been used to fire towards Israeli territory. Among the equipment uncovered were military vests, helmets, and loaded RPG weapons.
Artillery units operating in the area have fired more than 700 shells in recent days at targets linked to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, the statement added.
The IDF said it will continue to operate with force against Hezbollah, which it described as acting in coordination with Iran, and reiterated its commitment to preventing harm to civilians in Israel.
