Israel says it will keep troops in security zone in Southern Lebanon

Israel does not intend to withdraw its forces from the security zone in southern Lebanon, including the Beaufort Castle area, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has stated.

In a post on X, he said Beaufort is an integral part of the security zone in Lebanon and is of key importance for the defence of the Galilee and the IDF forces, Caliber.Az reports.

Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon is one of the conditions for reaching peace with the United States.

Earlier, participants in the talks in Switzerland discussed all components of an agreement, as well as issues related to implementing a memorandum of understanding that envisions the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
