Israeli defence chief praises pilots’ unrivalled precision in strikes over Iran
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has hailed the country’s air force as unmatched globally, commending their unprecedented operations over Iranian airspace.
Speaking from a command bunker alongside Air Force Commander Major General Tomer Bar and senior military leaders, Katz described the pilots’ actions as a critical force in neutralising existential threats to Israel’s security, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
“There is no air force in the world capable of executing what you are doing now above Iran,” Katz declared, emphasising the extraordinary skill and bravery of Israeli pilots engaged in precision strikes on Tehran.
The minister expressed his gratitude for their “tremendous contribution” to safeguarding the nation from annihilation.
Notably, on June 13, 2025, Israel launched a significant military operation against Iran, targeting key nuclear facilities, military bases, and high-ranking officials.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) deployed over 200 aircraft in five waves of airstrikes, utilising more than 330 munitions on approximately 100 sites, including the Natanz underground nuclear facility. Additionally, Mossad reportedly sabotaged Iran's air defence systems and missile infrastructure, ensuring air superiority for Israeli forces.
In retaliation, Iran initiated "Operation True Promise 3," launching over 150 ballistic missiles and more than 100 drones at Israeli targets, including military sites and airbases. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed to continue strikes "without interruption," leading to sirens sounding across Israel and heightened security measures.
The conflict has resulted in significant casualties on both sides. Iran reported at least 220 deaths and nearly 1,300 injuries, while Israel confirmed 24 deaths and over 590 injuries, including seven IDF soldiers.
International reactions have been mixed. U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iran to de-escalate and engage in peace talks, while condemning Iran's missile attacks.
Russia and Türkiye criticised Israel's actions, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressed concern over potential radiological contamination at Iran's nuclear sites.
