Israeli military strikes on armed individuals in northern Gaza VIDEO
The Israeli military said its forces carried out strikes in northern Gaza on individuals it described as armed militants, following what it called multiple incidents posing imminent threats to troops operating in the area.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that on May 5 its soldiers identified an armed Hamas-affiliated cell operating near their positions in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF said the group was “eliminated” after being assessed as an immediate threat to deployed forces, Caliber.Az reports.

In a separate incident the same day, the military said troops observed individuals engaging in what it described as suspicious activity near the so-called Yellow Line and moving toward Israeli positions. The IDF said the Israeli Air Force struck one individual, and that another was later killed while attempting to flee.
The military stated that prior to carrying out the strikes, it took steps to reduce the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
The IDF said its forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in line with the existing ceasefire framework, and added that operations would continue to address what it described as immediate threats.
