Israeli PM hosts Jared Kushner as Trump’s Gaza plan enters next phase
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, who is also involved in promoting the peace plan for resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip, reports Newsru.co.il.
The meeting took place on November 10 at the Prime Minister’s office in Jerusalem.
Kushner arrived in Israel the day before, on November 9. Another U.S. presidential advisor, Steve Witkoff, is expected to arrive in the country today.
According to the Kan Broadcasting Corporation, the visit of the American officials indicates that the United States intends to move forward with the second stage of Trump’s plan.
U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a comprehensive 20-point framework to end the two-year Israel-Hamas war, secure hostage releases, and establish lasting peace in Gaza. The plan was announced during a White House press conference alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has been hailed by Trump as the "Deal of the Century 2.0." It builds on intensive negotiations involving the U.S., Israel, Egypt, Qatar, and other Arab states, with key roles played by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
The plan is structured in three phased stages, emphasising immediate ceasefire, hostage/prisoner exchanges, demilitarisation, humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and transitional governance. It envisions Gaza as a "deradicalised, terror-free zone" redeveloped into a prosperous "New Gaza," potentially akin to Middle Eastern economic hubs like Dubai.
