Japan to transfer $3 billion to Ukraine
The Japanese government will provide Ukraine with financial support of approximately $3 billion.
These funds will be allocated under a loan agreement, financed by confiscated assets of the Russian Federation, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
“The Government of Japan will allocate $3 billion to Ukraine,” the article says.
This assistance is part of a larger loan framework from the Group of Seven, totaling $50 billion, which will be financed through frozen Russian assets.
According to the media, every G7 nation will independently sign a loan agreement, with disbursements happening in installments from December until the end of 2027. Notably, the repayment of this loan is intended to come from the earnings of Russia's immobilized assets, ensuring that Ukraine is not required to repay it.
The G7 countries have already reached an agreement regarding the financial support package, and a document has been issued detailing specifics such as the loan amounts committed by each member country.
