An F-15 fighter jet operated by Japan’s Air Self-Defence Force became stuck on the runway at Naha Airport in Okinawa Prefecture.
Preliminary information suggests the fighter may have experienced a malfunction involving its landing gear. NHK footage showed several fire trucks stopped near the aircraft, although there were no signs of fire or smoke. No injuries have been reported.
One of the airport’s two runways was temporarily closed following the incident.
According to airport authorities, the closure did not affect the schedule of civilian arrivals and departures.
