Japanese vessels exit Persian gulf via Iran-approved route

29 July 2026 13:28

All three vessels carrying Japanese crew members that had been operating in the Persian Gulf have safely left the area via a route in the northern part of the Strait of Hormuz that was coordinated with Iran.

Japanese government sources said the evacuation of the vessels was organised with the assistance of the Japanese government, which provided Iranian authorities with the necessary information about the ships, Caliber.Az reports, citing Japanese media.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important shipping lanes, serving as a key transit route for global oil and liquefied natural gas exports.

Any disruption to navigation through the waterway is closely watched by international energy markets and governments worldwide.
