Journalist: Armenians refuse to join military training camps, study at military universities
Local residents of Armenia’s Tavush district, bordering Azerbaijan, refuse to participate in military training.
"The recruitment of participants in the 25-day military training has begun in the Tavush district. Given the almost universal distrust of Nikol Pashinyan, the authorities, the Defence Ministry and the General Staff, men from the border district are reluctant to participate in these training camps,” former Aravot journalist Voskan Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the journalist, the military commander has even suggested bringing some of these cases to trial as a lesson to others.
“However, there has been no trial or verdict against those who refused to participate in the training camps in the Tavush district," Sargsyan writes.
The journalist also said that after Armenia’s defeat in the Second Karabakh War, those who could not pass the minimum threshold for admissions have been enrolled in the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University.
