Russia's Kalashnikov invites partners to test Skat-350M recon drone PHOTO

21 January 2026 17:01

At the UMEX 2026 defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the Russian Kalashnikov Concern invited Middle Eastern partners to trial its latest reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, the Skat-350M, integrated with the loitering munitions KUB-2E and KUB-10E, the company reported via its official Telegram channel.

“The combination of the KUB systems with the Skat has demonstrated exceptional effectiveness in combat operations, both in the special military operation zone and in border regions. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, so we are actively offering Middle Eastern partners this proven integrated solution,” said Alan Lushnikov, CEO of the Kalashnikov Concern and a member of the bureau of the Union of Machine Engineers of Russia.

Kalashnikov highlighted strong interest from exhibition participants from the very first day, noting the wide range of unmanned systems on display, including the Skat-350M and its associated KUB-2E and KUB-10E munitions.

The Skat-350M is designed to identify targets and determine their coordinates, after which operators can direct one of Kalashnikov’s loitering munitions toward the objective. The KUB-10E or KUB-E munitions are intended for stationary targets, while the KUB-2E is optimized for moving targets or those protected by electronic warfare systems. Following an attack, the drone provides real-time assessment of target destruction.

The concern also noted that, on January 20, agreements were reached during the exhibition to organize demonstration flights of its unmanned systems in multiple countries.
