Kazakhstan boosts oil exports via Aktau–Baku–Ceyhan corridor
Deputy Chairman of the Board at KazMunayGas (KMG) national operator of the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan Aset Magauov has said that Kazakhstan is ramping up its oil exports through the strategic Aktau–Baku–Ceyhan corridor.
While speaking at a recent meeting of the Public Council of “Samruk-Kazyna” Sovereign Wealth Fund Magauov also revealed an increase in oil transit along the Aktau–Baku–Ceyhan route under an agreement with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
Transit volumes rose by 27 per cent to 1.4 million tons, with plans to push marine transit to 1.7 million tons in 2025. Highlighting overall performance, Magauov noted that in the first five months of 2025, Kazakhstan transported 34.7 million tons of oil, exceeding targets by 2 per cent, or 825,000 tons.
He stressed that Kazakhstan is set to significantly boost its oil supplies to Germany, aiming to reach 2 million tons by the end of 2025. Magauov highlighted that shipments via the Atyrau–Samara pipeline increased by 50 per cent in 2024. Building on this growth, Kazakhstan plans to further ramp up exports to Germany next year.
KazTransOil, Kazakhstan’s main oil pipeline operator, transported 230,000 tons of oil to Germany through Transneft’s system, up from 160,000 tons in April. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Energy had projected oil shipments to Germany to reach 1.2 million tons in 2025. Last year, oil deliveries via “Druzhba” oil pipeline totalled 1.5 million tons.
