Kazakhstan's Khabar Agency eyes memorandum with Azerbaijan's AzTV
Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Khabar Agency, Dauletkhan Zhiyenkulov, has stated that Azerbaijan is very actively involved in all processes within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), especially in media cooperation.
He made the remarks in an interview with Azerbaijan’s state news agency Azertac on November 27, per Caliber.Az.
Highlighting that media cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan extends beyond the OTS framework, the deputy chairman noted.
“In Kazakhstan, we maintain close cooperation with our Azerbaijani colleagues. For example, Khabar recently signed a cooperation memorandum with Baku TV. Next year, we plan to sign a similar memorandum with Azerbaijan Television [AzTV]. This shows that the Azerbaijani side is active and initiative-driven in all processes, both multilaterally and bilaterally,” he said.
Touching upon expectations from joint media initiatives, Zhiyenkulov said: “They are very high, because today we live in a time when unreliable information, fake news, manipulations and various forms of disinformation spread rapidly across social media. Whether we like it or not, we must acknowledge that social networks often disseminate information faster than official sources.”
He stressed that government bodies and media institutions must act swiftly and accurately in information exchange.
“Preventing disinformation and ensuring timely, accurate and reliable reporting are among the most critical issues in the media sphere today. That is why we need to listen to one another and share experiences,” he added.
