Kremlin denies deterioration of Russian-Turkish relations Amid external pressure
07 June 2024 15:10
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed notions of a strained relationship between Russia and Türkiye, citing ongoing diplomatic and economic engagements between the two nations.
Peskov attributed any perceived tension to external pressures from Western countries, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, and their alleged interference in Turkish affairs, Interfax reports.
He highlighted the resilience of Turkish President Erdogan in defending his nation's interests despite economic challenges and external pressures.
While acknowledging existing difficulties in economic cooperation with Türkiye, Peskov expressed confidence in finding alternative avenues to maintain bilateral relations despite external pressures.
