Kremlin remains tight-lipped about Trump-Putin phone talk
Press Secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov has neither confirmed nor denied reports about a phone talk between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
"As the administration in Washington carries out its work, there are many different communications taking place through various channels, and of course, given the multitude of these communications, there may be things I personally don't know or am not aware of. Therefore, in this case, I cannot confirm or deny it," he said, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The New York Post previously reported that Trump had spoken with his Russian counterpart over phone regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
“I’d better not say,” Trump told The Post when asked how many times the two leaders had spoken.
However, he believes Putin “does care” about the killing on the battlefield. “He wants to see people stop dying,” Trump said. “All those dead people. Young, young, beautiful people. They’re like your kids, two million of them – and for no reason.”
Trump further claimed that the three-year-long war “never would have happened” if he had been president in 2022.
